#dolanfire Many fire managers use what is called a PACE model. PACE stands for Primary, Alternative, Contingency and Emergency. That model is being used by Pacific northwest on the Dolan Fire. When safe to do so, the primary strategy may mean directly attacking the fire where it is. Alternately, we might need to defend a road that has been prepared a little farther away.
