Last night at our South Austin Academy of Vocal Arts year end concert at Bates Hall on the UT campus, I watched Riley perform with the Chamber Choir—an auditioned ensemble she made this semester. It’s wild to think this is the same shy 10-year-old from that first video, now 17 and finding her voice in every sense. I’m sooooo grateful for the people who helped her get here—Jeanne, Carol, and Terri—and for those who continue to guide her now: her director Matthew, Miss Ivy, and Carol (piano). Watc
