TOM’S TIPS // Fishing a mouse fly or “mousing” is not only for nighttime. Some river systems including a local river near you can likely be effectively fished with mouse pattern during the day. In some cases its a lack of additional food sources that makes this possible. It could also be that the fish are feeding heavily as adverse weather or water conditions set in. In either case, it’s a blast to try and relevant when pursuing Trout, Bass, Northern Pike, or other aggressive species. | Orvis Fl
